A client had purchased a 30 acre plot of land in Upstate New York and wanted a minimal maintenance, minimal cost and maximum energy efficient space. By utilizing Thermomass, a pre formed concrete normally utilized in commercial applications, we eliminated the need for any interior build out - No drywall, no paint chips, and virtually a maintenance free interior and exterior. Warm wood tones were chosen, along with plenty of windows and natural light sources to brighten up what could have easily been a “brutalist” style home. The wood finishes touch on the site’s natural beauty, and the concrete echo’s the rocks of the stream which the home borders - allowing for the home to blend in to it’s beautiful backdrop inside and out
